ok i'm ignorant - coz i seldom pass by jln song anyway. This concept cafe started some couple of months ago, by the name of CHILAX = chillout + relax : )

They served nutricious fresh juices without sugar syrup : ) like this one is called ~

Sweet C = apple + guava

Dragon Heart = strictly dragon fruit only

CHILAX offers two types of cakes each day - I would personally recommend ~

Red bean and green tea cheese cake - light and healthy like the japanese : )

Another must try : Triple Choc Cake

i'm not so into choc cake but this one very nice~ crispy bottom but not too heavy as ordinary choc cake

And now coming to the highlights: it's a concept cafe as they have a whole range of board games + comics + books + magazines (most updated ones), that make it such a good place to just hang out and play, ideal for 6-8 pax get-together and cater up to 12-15 at their tatami corner too : )

They have all kinda games ~ all gathered nicely at the display shelf you can pick any one you like eg. mastermind, monopoly, uno, jenga, investigation, etc.....and other imported games i've yet to learn how to play : )

And they have Tarots too~ the one i did is pretty "zhun" one eh : )

CHILAX operates kinda exclusively....only Thurs - Sun 9pm onwards till ..... the nite owl hours, and most of the time on reservation basis. Best spot is definitely their tatami corner : ) Game playing is absolutely one of the best way for ice-breaking : )

Having a heavy downpour after couple of weeks of dry hazy days, giving much better air for breathing~^^

Company just got us a coffee maker~ so can indulge in a cup of cappuccino vanilla / cafe mocha in the middle of some strroesssful work..... ;-)

Having the best cakes in town when i really crave for them......

Just got back from Hong Kong and guess what am i posting for part one? .................... FOOD~!!! Wahaha...i'm such a foodee ^___^ Have been eating along the way throughout my 1-week vacation to try out their local food as much as possible. Oh, btw the picture above is their famous Sheung-Pei-Ten-Nai (Double Layer Steam Milk)

Today is the day to remind all of us to show love and care to mom everyday and not just on the day itself. This year, i'm breaking the usual dinner-thing and decided to bring mom and dad for something out of the norm instead - the Sunset Cruise. And i'm here to share with you some nice views while cruising the Sarawak river - sights that i almost take for granted all these years while living in this beautiful city.

I am back, for food blogging ^___^
Couple of frenz ask why so many food photos, instead of my face on this blog. Oh well, you see, i'm a person who is passionate 'bout food (thank god i can still confidently say that i'm slim :D wahahaha....i'm so blessed i know) And I'm a diversified person in terms of type of food - i can have local, thai, chinese, japanese, korean, italian, french blah blah blah etc. etc. etc. In other words, i'm the live-to-eat type of person, and i'll go for quality instead of quantity. So for those who eat for the sake of eating, i'd suggest you try out as much as possible la.....you see, it's a meal EXPERIENCE that matters. Instead of saying "uh, i heard from frenz it's really good" or "Erm....i heard from people that it taste so bad" well, at least you can say it all aloud like "Oh well, I've tried and it's fantastic / not worth it" sort of thing, with tone of excitement, agree?

so i'm here, with much eagerness to share with you some of my heartiest recommendation, which i think is definitely worth the experience and in my opinion, the best in town:

1. Kolo mee
Kuching's most authentic local noodle
Best in town: Wang Lai Kopitiam @ 3rd Mile Bazaar - the taste is so good that i can't really put it in words - you gotta try it for yourself

2. Sarawak Laksa
can't find it anywhere more authentic
Best in town: Spring Cafe @ Palm Road (Opposite Miramar - there are two there, just choose the smaller kopitiam ok)

3. Iced Mocha
Best in town: Dennis Place
so rich & tasty much better than Coffee Bean lah~ (Oops!)

4. Aegean Sea & Almond Cookies
Only available at: Frappe @ Travillion
Soothing cool mixed juice and thin crispy almond cookies - compliment each other perfectly as if they are meant to be ^_*

5. Cafe Vienna & Chocolate Pudding & Seafood Aglio-Olio
Best in town: Oregano @ Travillion
i'm not really into pudding but the chef had surprised and impressed me - Hot warm choco pudding paired with cool vanila ice-cream - Mmm.... perfect match~!

6. Spaghetti Carbonara
Best in town: TOMS
I have a good start memory on this - my first try was a birthday treat and it has kept me goin' back ^_^

7. Tiramisu
Best in Town: Ristorante Beccari @ Merdeka Palace
I've kind of a romantic encounter with this signature dessert ^_* very authentic, thumbs up!

8. Turkey Ham Sandwich with Focacia Bread
Best in Town: Elephant Cafe @ Ang Cheng Ho
Freshly baked focacia bread with herbs - good for healthy lunch

See, good food are all over the place even in a small town like this. Anyone who have better place to recommend - bring me there k?

Visited this newly opened place @ Padungan for cousin's birthday treat. Commenced business some 2 weeks ago, it was named Room 205, cool eh? Quite a small but cozy place, food is okay, people is okay, deco is nice, business quite good also.....all-in-all.....first impression is a good one~^^ Rating : 7 out of 10

Nice Lodging Place in Kuching

Hey pals, check out the link to Singgahsana Lodge , i've went in to have a look just the other day and i'm really impressed, small but cool, cozy place and very "ethnic" feel ~^^ cheaper rates and good connection to transportation and places of interest in town. Almost as good as those self-service lodge in Europe that i've been to. Personally i would recommend to try this place rather than the normal hotels :p

Cool Countdown

This year's countdown was in a totally different setting ~ instead of the crowded, smoky & noisy bars, i headed to Borneo Highlands for cool highland breeze & spa retreat. Situated in the Land of the Hornbill & standing at 1000 meters above sea level, the resort is within an hour drive from Kuching city.

Two things i wanna share with you 'bout this short trip:

1. The most inspiring panaromic mountain scenery with clouds and mists below my feet at the Kalimantan Border. I can't find any word to describe the spectacular view, you have to see it for yourself.

2. Spending most of the time enjoying my dip in the Jungle Spa with total relaxation~^^ followed by a one-hour Traditional Bidayuh Massage with homemade oil brewed from herbs, coconut, pepper & ginger to heat and warm the body & increases blood circulation - exactly what i need.

And that's how i celebrated my new year countdown, how 'bout you?

Here comes the season i love ~ a season that filled with warmth, santa & gifts, beautiful deco & lights, heart-warming christmas songs, fun parties & celebrations~^^

This year, my christmas wishlist is just a short one:

1. Mini hi-fi
- my stereo set has gone totally out of order couple of months ago and i've been on completely music-less mode since then

2. Camera Phone
- so that i can take pictures whenever & wherever i feel like to, without the hassle to bring my chunky camera around
- any suggestion for a camera phone?

3. That there'll be no more bloody news on the chinese newspapers
- i have problem with these papers every morning, they seems to be happily publishing all the colourful bloody pictures from either some accidents or murder cases and make an at least a 2-page coverage on the issue, making me sick *sigh* and i really can't read them if i wanna have breakfast for the day
- that's why i recommend you to read Happy News

As christmas approaches, it's time for us to spread festive cheer to all, especially the less priviledged. A friend who works for Holiday Inn Kuching brings to an attention of their christmas charity gingerbread house, which they set up every year this time. You may donate RM5 for a gingerbread brick, your generosity will be contributed to the Kidney Association of Sarawak & Sarawak Thalassaemia Society.

Birthday Celebration

This year, one of my birthday celebration plans is having spend quality time & rejuvenate at this new beach resort that i've heard so much about - Sematan Palm Beach Resort, 1.5 hours drive from Kuching. It is indeed very relaxing & beautiful place - not too commercialised as damai; clean & new amenities, chalet that makes me feels just like home, strolling along the beach or sitting at one of the benches enjoying the sea breeze with 24hours of music on..... pretty good place for yoga too~^^

Ok, this will be my last episode of my trip that i'll be posting. I've extended few days stay in Spore after my cruise trip and have been doin' much shopping and walking around. There is this one place that i really like, which they call it Spore's Durian : The Esplanade, with its structural design that looks like a durian.

Pretty good place to spend ur free time one of the afternoons, get urself some musical treat and cup of cuppa. i've pampered myself at The V Tea Room - an awesome elegant and majestic european-style cafe which preserves the magical feel of old traditions. It's worth the experience - they serve you like a Queen~^^

KoSamui certainly is a good place to kick back, rejuvenate and recharge oneself. Despite pretty hot weather (initially, i intended to get some sun tan but ended up with sun burn instead..........), it was an interesting exploration thanks to our cheerful friendly tour guide and interesting tour mates! Most importantly, the dreamy white sandy beaches with calm , scenic bay~^^

Basically found nothing special at Bangkok, my friend Susan's main intention is to go shopping downtown so we took the complimentary shuttle offered by the cruise to World Trade Centre in the city and we are dropped off for 6 hours before we take the shuttle back to the port for embarkation as the cruise have to leave the port before midnight. Tried tom yam, green curry, and traditional thai massage (acrobatic style).

Star Cruise Virgo

So i'm back, after 2 weeks of getaway, and will share with you my version of titanic experience and some photos taken while cruising the south china sea. This is a 6D5N Spore - Bangkok - KoSamui - Spore trip. Well there's a whole lot i wanna tell in the next couple of days including my new found paradise KoSamui and my extended trip in spore but today, will be focusing much on the cruise itself.

Basically, cruise vacation has been on my list since couple of years ago, though i am not a seasick type of person but i personally do not recommend those who are to board the cruise as i can feel the "shakiness" throughout. All in all, it was an enjoyable trip, with high doses of ice-cream, plenty of good sleep and the pain in my left foot has gone away ~^^

I've never been a fan of korean food mainly due to not-so-pleasant first time encounter with it couple of years ago. Yesterday however, one lead to another, end up going to Seoul Garden with an expert who have deep passion in korean food (especially spicy ones). All in all, a much better experience and better taste than the previous ones~^^v

Cracking Love Generation - a Japanese Drama i've watched 5 years ago, surprisingly still touch my heart - i'm at disc 5 now and still feel like crying. Love the soundtrack, still very much love the crystal apple ~^^
